Claire Leheny joined AISNE in 2015 as the organization's Executive Director. Prior to joining AISNE, Claire was the founding Executive Director of the National Network of Schools in Partnership (NNSP), which brings together public and independent schools to build partnerships that expand opportunities for students. Claire began her career as an independent school teacher, coach and administrator and then spent over a decade as a senior executive for two media companies based in London and Washington DC. Claire holds degrees from Oberlin College and Georgetown University.
Assistant Executive Director
Bonnie Ricci has served AISNE schools for 10 years, steering the organization's accreditation program and designing professional development opportunities. She works closely with leaders across the network to tackle their strategic priorities and questions. Prior to joining AISNE, Bonnie taught math at three independent schools in the Northeast, most recently at Bancroft School in Worcester MA. Bonnie received her BA from Williams College and an MEd from Worcester State University. She is on the board of Apprentice Learning, a non-profit organization that provides work apprenticeships for public middle-school students in Boston.
Director of Finance and Operations
Barbara Manning joined AISNE in 1999 and today serves as the organization's Director of Finance and Operations. Prior to joining AISNE, Barbara managed the office operations for an architectural and building firm and worked in the accounting department for a utility company.
Director of Events and Programs
Carol-Ann McIntosh joined AISNE 12 years ago and has served our member schools in myriad ways during her tenure. Today, she oversees our events programming and admissions support initiatives. Prior to joining AISNE, Carol-Ann worked as a volunteer at Brimmer and May School and then moved into the role of Administrative Assistant to the Head of School. She is the mother of two daughters, both of whom recently graduated from independent schools. Carol-Ann graduated from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a degree in business administration.
Program and Sponsorship Manager
Shauna Betof joined AISNE in 2016. In addition to her work at AISNE, Shauna is Co-Coordinator of the NAIS Families First Program supporting heads and spouses across the country. Shauna has worked and lived at several independent schools, most recently as Assistant Athletic Director at George School. She has also served as an ODP soccer coach and a soccer club director. Shauna has B.S. in Human Development at Cornell University and studied Sport and Exercise Psychology at Springfield College while serving as an assistant coach for their women’s soccer team. She lives in Brookline with her husband, who is head of Boston University Academy, and their two daughters. Shauna is an incoming board member with the Brookline Education Foundation.
Karen Neary joined AISNE in 2004 and has served the organization in various administrative capacities. Prior to AISNE, Karen worked in the Superintendent's Office of Milton Public Schools and as a mortgage analyst at Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency. Karen is the mother of two sons, both of whom graduated from independent schools. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in business communications.
