Founded as a progressive school in 1928, Buxton educates in the belief that students learn best when engaged in meaningful activity in the context of community. Buxton offers stimulating, participatory academics; a committed arts program; and a community experience that is supportive and intentional. A renovated classroom/science lab and soon-to-be-completed fine-arts building provide students with the best of both worlds: the charm and history of traditional buildings with the opportunities offered by state-of-the-art facilities. Williams College and the Clark Art Institute are next door.
