| Special Programs/Features | Each student in Grades 6 through 8 receives a personal laptop with campus-wide wireless connection and interactive white boards available in each Middle School classroom. Spanish begins in Grade 4 and Latin in Grade 6. Students in all grades engage in age-appropriate community outreach projects during the year, receiving recognition annually form the Parents' Independent Network (PIN),which granted DCD 16 community service awards in 2009-2010, more than any other Boston-area independent school. Established in 1903 and located on 17 acres just outside of Boston, off Route 128, Dedham Country Day School enrolls 250 boys and girls in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8. With close teacher-student rapport and emphasis on excellence in traditional academics, DCD seeks to develop students' independent thinking, sense of personal responsibility, and love of learning. Art, music, drama, woodworking, and physical education, including team sports for Middle School students, are offered at all grade levels, as is technology, along with more than 30 arts electives in Middle School.
