Special Programs/Features The Upper School program includes extensive honors and AP courses, comprehensive survey courses, required visual and performing arts classes, and electives such as robotics, alternative energy sources, sports medicine, journalism, ethics, and interdisciplinary courses. Summer opportunities include Spanish immersion in Càdiz and science and business internships. Middle School students study science, math, and foreign language in addition to humanities courses integrating English and social studies, drama, media literary, the arts, and wellness seminars.

Financial Aid Program The Rivers School is committed to a financial aid program that makes a Rivers education available to qualified applicants regardless of their ability to pay our full tuition. In the current academic year, Rivers has awarded approximately $2.6 million in need-based financial aid. Please note that the Rivers Admissions Committee operates on a need-blind basis. Candidates are evaluated for financial aid based on demonstrated need as evidenced through the nationally standardized system for analysis offered by the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) based in Princeton, NJ. Our Financial Aid application deadline is January 15th. Founded in 1915, The Rivers School is dedicated to its mission of “excellence with humanity”—offering rigorous, challenging programs in a caring community in which each student is known, understood, and valued. With 450 students in grades 6 through 12, the school offers an intimate and dynamic classroom environment with 34 honors and Advanced Placement courses as well as a comprehensive arts program, and is home to one of the premier music schools in the Boston area—The Rivers School Conservatory. The School operates 2 summer day camps; The Rivers Day Camp and Camp Nonesuch.
