Claire Leheny
Executive Director
Claire Leheny joined AISNE in 2015 as the organization's Executive Director. Prior to joining AISNE, Claire was the founding Executive Director of the National Network of Schools in Partnership (NNSP), which brings together public and independent schools to build partnerships that expand opportunities for students. Claire began her career as an independent school teacher, coach and administrator and then spent over a decade as a senior executive for two media companies based in London and Washington DC. Claire holds degrees from Oberlin College and Georgetown University.

Barbara Manning
Director of Finance & Operations
Barbara Manning joined AISNE in 1999 and today serves as the organization's Director of Finance and Operations. Prior to joining AISNE, Barbara managed the office operations for an architectural and building firm and worked in the accounting department for a utility company.

Carol-Ann McIntosh
Director of Events & Programs
Carol-Ann McIntosh joined AISNE 12 years ago and has served our member schools in myriad ways during her tenure. Today, she oversees our events programming and admissions support initiatives. Prior to joining AISNE, Carol-Ann worked as a volunteer at Brimmer and May School and then moved into the role of Administrative Assistant to the Head of School. She is the mother of two daughters, both of whom recently graduated from independent schools. Carol-Ann graduated from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a degree in business administration.

Kristin Bedard
Director of Communications & Member Engagement
Kristin Bedard brings a valuable combination of marketing, communications, and independent school experience to AISNE. She began her career at The Boston Globe and, developing and marketing new products. Kristin's passion for the convergence of marketing and technology, along with the rise of social media and marketing automation, took her to Forrester in 2012, where she helped lead Forrester's CMO Group, a membership-based peer network for chief marketing officers.

A 1997 graduate of Dana Hall School in Wellesley, MA, Kristin served as president of the school's alumnae association, 2011-2017, and she currently serves on the school's Board of Trustees. These experiences give Kristin first-hand perspective and appreciation for the emerging needs and interests of local independent schools. Kristin lives in Newton, MA with her husband Rob and their two young sons, Lucas and Ethan. She holds a BA in Political Science and Psychology from Boston University, where she graduated cum laude in 2001.

Shauna Betof
Program and Sponsorship Manager
Shauna Betof joined AISNE in 2016. In addition to her work at AISNE, Shauna is Co-Coordinator of the NAIS Families First Program supporting heads and spouses across the country. Shauna has worked and lived at several independent schools, most recently as Assistant Athletic Director at George School. She has also served as an ODP soccer coach and a soccer club director. Shauna has B.S. in Human Development at Cornell University and studied Sport and Exercise Psychology at Springfield College while serving as an assistant coach for their women’s soccer team. She lives in Brookline with her husband, who is head of Boston University Academy, and their two daughters. Shauna is an incoming board member with the Brookline Education Foundation.

Karen Neary
Administrative Assistant
Karen Neary joined AISNE in 2004 and has served the organization in various administrative capacities. Prior to AISNE, Karen worked in the Superintendent's Office of Milton Public Schools and as a mortgage analyst at Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency. Karen is the mother of two sons, both of whom graduated from independent schools. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in business communications.
