Moses Brown is a 236-year old co-educational independent day school enrolling 750 students nursery through twelfth grade. A Friends school, MB exists to inspire children to reach their full intellectual and spiritual potential. We engage students in a rich academic curriculum, a broad offering of arts and athletics, and a daily life rooted in the Quaker values of community, equality, and service. The primary responsibility of this position is to teach four sections of 7th grade Mathematics, work collaboratively with Middle School Team and Department colleagues, and communicate routinely with parents, colleagues and students. For this particular position, knowledge of middle level best practices and experience working with middle school children is critical. We seek a middle level educator with experience using technology to effectively engage students in both classroom and distance learning methods. Excitement about creating engaging project-based learning experiences and supporting the social-emotional and academic growth of middle school children is required.
Currently, Moses Brown School Middle School is fully in-person. But, like all schools, the ongoing pandemic has created some uncertainty in terms of educational delivery models. It is possible that during winter we will be forced to teach remotely.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution. Two to five years of teaching experience is preferred, although not a requirement for application. We seek candidates who are passionate about their desire to teach, advise, coach, and learn from middle school students, and eager to embrace and forward the Quaker mission of the school.
