The assistant director of admission will assist in all aspects of admission responsibilities: recruitment, marketing, selection, financial aid, and enrollment. The successful candidate will be joining a highly collaborative office and will be an innovative thinker who can operate both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates should be prepared to develop recruitment strategies to attract applicants to the school. The ability to manage multiple projects and communicate progress appropriately is essential. S/he should be comfortable utilizing technology and databases. The candidate should also have excellent organizational, time management and communication skills. S/he must possess the interpersonal skills to relate and interact with adolescents, their parents, placement professionals, and the faculty and staff of Portsmouth Abbey School. The candidate must possess the willingness to travel frequently at times and work nights/weekends throughout the recruitment cycle.

S/he will be expected to represent and promote Portsmouth Abbey School and its unique mission in a positive and professional manner. In addition to joining the admission team, the candidate must be genuinely interested in participating in the responsibilities that are associated with a boarding school (school events, advising, athletics, and residential life) and embrace the mission of the School.

Prior admission and/or marketing experience and a familiarity with boarding schools are preferred. A bachelor's degree is required.

Faculty members are expected to participate in all aspects of the School. Faculty appointments normally include coaching athletics and assuming responsibility within a dormitory and student life. Each faculty member serves as an advisor for 5-7 students.
