About You

You are an experienced digital communications strategy and content development specialist. You have proven yourself to be a highly productive self-starter with excellent strategic, writing, communications, and diplomacy skills. You are flexible and resilient, able to adapt to an ever-changing landscape, and pitch in whenever and wherever needed. A sharp attention to detail and strong communication and relationship skills are your trademark. You have proven yourself as someone who can take on increased responsibility and you tackle competing priorities with integrity, humor, and sound judgment.  

To be successful in this role, you must be able to:

  • Lead the development and execution of the School’s digital content strategy.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive social media plan for internal and external stakeholders that incorporates planned and impromptu messages and updates.
  • Develop paid digital advertising campaigns.
  • Support expanded initiatives supporting Athletics, College Counseling, Summer Camp, Advancement, and others.
  • Monitor digital technology industry trends, provide implementation recommendations, and execute new strategies.
  • Oversee the School’s website, including regular content updates and SEO tactics, conduct website audit(s), troubleshoot technical concerns with external and internal audiences, monitor and provide recommendations based on site visit metrics and user habits, and identify/lead opportunities for community training.
  • Manage the online School-wide calendar for accuracy, consistency, and clarity, identifying and reducing redundancies and communicating changes throughout the organization, as needed.
  • Assist in developing content by sourcing stories and information for the School’s digital publications, including newsletters and internal notices.
  • Serve as School’s day-to-day staff photographer and videographer and manage the School’s digital photo and video archives.
  • Engage and manage outside photographers and videographers and assist with the storyboarding, scheduling and other logistics of external photo/video shoots.
  • Assist in the execution of hired external marketing and messaging firm’s recommendations as they relate to digital output (web, social media).
  • Ability to effectively interact with colleagues, faculty, staff, administration, students, parents, and other community members.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, communications, or a related field
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or journalism; corporate or advertising agency experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in website writing and content management required
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills and the ability to articulate the school’s value proposition through a variety of traditional and digital media
  • Excellent writing, grammar, and editorial skills. Experience as a copywriter required
  • Proven social media strategy and execution expertise on behalf of a profit or nonprofit organization
  • Demonstrated organizational and operational skills; superior interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to create, foster and work within an environment of collaboration
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data (primary and secondary sources) to turn information into effective strategies
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Exceptional technology skills to include website and social media platforms, Microsoft Office, MailChimp, Basecamp, and other platforms
  • Photography and video skills to capture daily School activities
  • A team player with a positive, entrepreneurial, and service- and results-oriented attitude
