The Williston Northampton School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton, Massachusetts with a culturally diverse educational community in grades 7-12. We are seeking to hire a full time Director of the Williston Theater for the 2021-22 school year. Preference will be given to candidates who have directing experience, ideally in independent schools.

The Theater Director oversees all elements of the Williston theater program. The responsibilities of this position include teaching Middle School theater classes and Upper School electives in acting and theater. The Director selects, casts, and produces four theater productions a year which include an annual musical. This position includes working collaboratively with our technical director and costume designer and other arts faculty. The Director oversees budgets, publicity, program mission, and hiring of guest faculty. This position also involves advising students. On campus housing and residential responsibilities could be considered for this position if there is mutual interest.

Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, and must have the ability to work in a school environment by successful completion of all legally required and school required background checks including the state mandated CORI, Criminal Offender Record Information, SORI, Sex Offender Record Information and Fingerprint based criminal background check.
