Maimonides School, a Modern Orthodox day school in Brookline, MA, seeks an Elementary School music teacher for the 2019-20 academic year.
The school is searching for an individual who is professional, energetic, flexible, and friendly. We are looking for a candidate who understands and addresses the diverse learning styles of children, works collegially as a team member, and is able to communicate effectively. Ideally, the candidate is eager to grow in their position and develop professionally.
Responsibilities include K-6 grade-level general music classes once a week, instruction on individual instruments, and conducting the Elementary School orchestra and Middle/Upper School jazz bands. The music teacher is responsible for preparing students for in-school and out-of-school performances, as well as assisting other teachers with their class performances.
Minimum of three years experience required, with a degree in Music and Music Education (master's degree preferred but not required). Experience with brass, percussion, woodwinds, and/or strings is preferred.
