Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent boarding and day school for girls in grades 7-12 located in Greenfield, Massachusetts, seeks an experienced, dynamic English Department Chair and Instructor of English for the 2019-2020 academic year, effective August 2019.  Stoneleigh-Burnham School, the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme, is committed to excellence in teaching and holds high standards for its faculty. The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching four sections of upper school English, including IB English A Literature, as well as Chairing the English Department and advising students. The position may require residential duty and at least one season of coaching.

Applicants should have at least a Bachelor’s degree and should be invested in making a positive impact on the lives of adolescent girls, both in and out of the classroom.  Stoneleigh-Burnham strives to cultivate an inclusive community and diversify its faculty; candidates who can contribute to the diversity of the community are encouraged to apply.
