There is an opening for a full-time staff accountant. In this full-time position, the Staff Accountant reports directly to the Controller and will work closely with the Business Office team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing and processing the semi-monthly payroll and related reconciliations, performing a range of day-to-day accounting activities including but not limited to: general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, preparing and distributing monthly reports, deposits, student billing, providing support and backup for accounts receivable and accounts payable. There will also be light administrative duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly responsive to faculty, staff, students and parents
- A collegial, friendly, and positive attitude
- A strong work ethic
- A high attention to detail
Experience and Skills Preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word a must
- Experience with Blackbaud is a plus
