Montrose School seeks an experienced instructor of music to lead the Middle School Choir part-time (.5) for the 2021-2022 school year. This highly qualified music instructor will have experience with girls' choirs, an understanding of the developing treble voice, be able to teach proper vocal technique and rudimentary notation and rhythm skills so girls can learn how to understand and interpret a vocal score. We seek candidates ready to prepare for two performances annually, choosing appropriate repertoire based on the venue and occasion. Additionally, the successful candidate will have a wide knowledge of appropriate repertoire in many genres, from classical to contemporary, and be adaptable to working creatively with the resources (i.e. voices) available.
