Seeking a part-time Improv Coach to join the Arts Department for the 2018-2019 academic year. Responsibilities will include coaching and mentoring our club improv team, Button Fly, which performs both at Gann and out in the community. Gann is seeking candidates who will maintain a high level of performance and collaboration and who will approach the position with an entrepreneurial bent. The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience with long-form improv, both as artist and coach.
The Arts Department at Gann is committed to inspiring our students to self-actualize through expression in the arts. We believe that the arts provide a unique framework for our students to develop essential skills for success in high school and beyond, including risk-taking, critical thinking, collaboration, and iteration. Our department’s guiding mission is aligned with that of the school:
“…to educate, to inspire, and to empower intellectually confident, passionately engaged, ethically responsible Jews who, through critical thinking and the contribution of their unique voices, will create a vibrant Jewish future and build a better world where human dignity will flourish.”
Gann is deeply invested in teacher development and reflective teaching practice, and offers competitive compensation and a collegial work environment. We seek teachers who are committed to collaborating and growing in their teaching practice, supporting diverse learners in the classroom, and connecting with students outside the classroom, both formally and informally.
