Milton Academy, established in 1798, is an independent coeducational national boarding and day school, serving 1,000 students in grades K-12 on a 125 acre campus eight miles south of Boston.
Milton Academy seeks a qualified part-time lower school math coach will serve as a mentor and coach to teachers by facilitating professional development and teacher learning opportunities, co-planning lessons, modeling best practices, providing feedback on instruction, and compiling curricular resources. The math coach will engage students in small group learning environments to provide additional support or enrichment.
We seek teachers who believe in progressive, differentiated, and developmentally-aligned models of teaching and learning; understand the importance of cultural competency and instructional technology; bring a close integration of the arts and experiential education into classroom curricula; and are attuned to the social and emotional growth of students.
A demonstrated ability working in a diverse and inclusive community is essential. Warmth, compassion, cultural competence, flexibility, humor, pragmatism, and accessibility with students, faculty, families, and administrators are essential qualities for this position. Teacher certification is not required.
