About EXPLO

In 1976, an idea took hold in the halls of MIT: a powerful reimagining of the summer experience for high school students. That idea became EXPLO, a pioneering and world-class summer enrichment program where students pursue their interests unconstrained by grades and tests. The result? A collaborative, interdisciplinary learning environment, where students drive their own learning through exploration.

More than 85,000 students have attended EXPLO and they come from 90 countries. Upwards of 60 alums have been named to the Forbes 30 under 30 list.  Today, the organization continues to reimagine teaching and learning in an age of momentous change. A year ago,  EXPLO expanded its work into consulting, research, and professional learning and is now working with some of the leading schools in the world. This dynamic not-for-profit  is carving out a role as a home for education thought leaders producing publications, research reports, and presentations at numerous conferences including the Education World Forum and the International Education & Skills Summit.
