Core Responsibilities/Expectations

As a member of the Upper School faculty, the Math Teacher is expected to teach 4 to 5 sessions with an average class size of 14, and serves as an advisor to a group of 7 to 10 Upper School students. In addition, he or she will coach or lead two other afternoon activities. Teachers are also expected to participate in Admissions’ Open Houses and act as ambassadors for Worcester Academy, and other like events outside the regular school day, participate in division/department meetings, participate in Professional Learning Groups as well as in Instructional Rounds with other teachers.

Required Experience:

Education

•       Bachelor in Math/Science related field: Master’s preferred 

Experience

  • Relevant teaching experience
  • Technology proficiency including MS Excel, MS Word and online course management tools ; Proven experience using these software platforms are required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Faculty members have a multi-prong reporting structure and as such report in to the Division Director and Department Chair.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Hear, see, and speak to effectively communicate in-person and by telephone with faculty, staff, parents, students and external contacts.
  • Ability to navigate within the walking campus community during all weather conditions.
  • Occasional travel in a safe and expeditious manner to off-site locations.

Work full-time and maintain regular and predictable attendance with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
