Woodward School is an independent, college preparatory, day school for girls in grades 6 – 12, located in Quincy, MA, seeking a full-time Upper School Science Teacher for the 2019-20 academic year and beyond. Classes are intentionally small providing opportunity to know every girl, and for every girl to be known. We are developing a strong partnership with parents to foster the best school community so that our students will reach their greatest potential in their preparation for college and life after Woodward.

Woodward seeks an Upper School Science Teacher to teach biology and chemistry, instructing students in the history and acquired knowledge in the content areas and the scientific method, within a lab-based curriculum emphasizing openness to inquiry, collaboration, problem solving, and rigorous thinking and presentation.
Woodward seeks candidates who demonstrate strong content knowledge, the ability to differentiate instruction and assessment, to organize and manage the demands of the classroom, and to maintain positive relationships with students, families and colleagues. Responsibilities include advising, various other assigned duties as needed, as well as an engaged presence in the school community and at school events. Candidates must have a strong desire and passion to teach in a single-sex girls school.
A Master’s degree and two years or more of high school science teaching experience is preferred. Opportunities for school leadership are available.
