Wellan Montessori School is currently seeking an experienced school nurse to serve students age 15 months – grade 8. This is a part-time position, approximately 20-30 hours per week. The school nurse will be primarily responsible for assessing student health needs, reviewing individual action plans for students with allergies or chronic medical conditions, responding to student injuries and illnesses, managing and administering student medication, and maintaining student health and immunization records in accordance with state regulations. This position will also support the school administration’s ongoing development of school health policy and curriculum as needed.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and thorough. This individual will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and have the ability to adapt effectively to changing student and school needs. Confidence in working with young children and communicating with parents is critical.
Monday to Friday, approximately 20 – 30 hours per week (schedule may vary).
Academic year position available September – June, with option to extend for summer hours.
Occasional attendance at additional meetings and events outside of regular position hours may be required.
- Valid RN license required.
- Experience working with young children and toddlers in an educational environment required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
