Nobles seeks a writer/content manager to work closely with the director and all members of the communications team to develop compelling content and contribute to the school’s strategic communications planning and execution. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and editor with a strong technology background. Qualifications include competence in WordPress and knowledge of information architecture, usability and analytics. Familiarity with digital photography, graphic design, social media and/or data integration are desirable but not required.
The writer/content manager should demonstrate an interest in tone, institutional messaging and consistency in support of mission; the writer/content manager will articulate these concepts and standards to other members of the community, overseeing digital workflow, internal training and recommending priorities for development. The writer/content manager will manage projects from concept to delivery, including participation in creative development, collaboration with colleagues across departments and with consultants. Additional duties may include day-to-day web editing, writing for print publications, scheduling photo or video shoots, general project management, assisting with the maintenance of the school’s digital assets, or other tasks.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in English literature, journalism, communications or related field. Flexibility, energy, humor, a strong work ethic and creative problem-solving skills are also required. Appreciation of independent school education is a strong plus.
