The College Counseling Office (CCO) Assistant is responsible for providing reception and administrative support to the College Counseling Office. The first point of contact for the CCO, the Assistant will build strong relationships with students, parents, and college/university representatives, and assist with all aspects of students’ college application processes.

 

The successful candidate will have exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to respond independently to constituents’ needs. In order to provide effective and efficient services, it is expected that the Assistant be professional, flexible, maintain confidentiality, and use tact and diplomacy at all times. The Assistant must be detail-oriented, organized, and technologically-savvy. The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects at once and adhere to deadlines.

Concord Academy’s Performing Arts Department offers a vibrant, rigorous, and eclectic dance program.  Students study ballet, contemporary modern dance, and composition at every level of training. In addition, guest teachers expand students’ experience in hip-hop, jazz dance, ballroom, and African dance.  The advanced-level performing ensemble is taught as an academic major, and invites guest choreographers to campus who bring a range of perspectives to the students’ course of study. Wilcox Fellowship applicants in dance should be trained in contemporary modern dance and have a strong background in ballet and experience with a range of dance forms such as jazz, hip-hop, African dance or contact improvisation.  In addition, training in Yoga, Pilates, or other somatic practices or physical fitness systems is beneficial. Experience choreographing for young dancers of varying technical abilities and dance backgrounds is a plus, but not required.
