About This Cohort
Education is a physically and emotionally demanding field. To succeed, you must intentionally develop your own resilience in order to thrive. This program will provide you with the tools to do just that.
Explore the habits and dispositions of resilient educators outlined in Elena Aguilar’s Onward: Cultivating Emotional Resilience in Educators. Spend time learning about yourself and developing a deeper awareness and understanding of your emotions. Use this to help recognize entry points into cultivating resilience in yourself and practice strategies for continuing to develop your resilience over the long haul. As you boost your resilience, discover you have the energy to do the challenging work required of today's educators.
Join this cohort to come together with fellow educators and collaborate with Elena Aguilar. Elena will facilitate two of this cohort's three synchronous sessions, on 6/30 and 5/25. Becky Biggs, Director, Professional Development, AISNE, will facilitate the second synchronous session, on 11/4.
In this cohort, you will:
- Understand the habits and dispositions of resilient people
- Identify moments where resilience can be cultivated and use a range of strategies to do so
- Engage in and reflect on activities that build individual and collective resilience
- Be more resilient when you leave
This work will focus on supporting your success in three key areas:
- Identifying core values
- Deconstructing the cycle of an emotion
- Reframing events
From this experience, you can expect:
- Support managing stress, preventing burnout, and thriving in your work
Each participant should purchase this book and workbook when you sign up for this cohort:
