About Our Speakers

Chris Thurber is a board-certified clinical psychologist, educator, author, and father. He earned his BA from Harvard in 1991 and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from UCLA in 1997.

A dedicated teacher from a young age, Chris has more than 30 years experience working with camps and independent schools. He's written about leadership, homesickness and youth development. An award-winning contributor to Camping Magazine and Camp Business, Chris has also shared his opinions and expertise on national and international radio, television, print media, podcasts, and webinars, including the Today Show, Martha Stewart, and CNN.

Devorah Heitner earned her Ph.D. in Media/Technology and Society from Northwestern University. She founded Raising Digital Natives for parents and educators seeking advice on how to help children thrive in a digital world. She's here to take the fear out of this emotionally-charged topic and help you guide your students towards empathy, kindness, and integrity.

Devorah speaks to schools, organizations and corporations, leads workshops, and consults with educators on their toughest concerns in teaching kids to use tech in a smart way.
